Our inspiration The inspiration for this guide comes from our award-winning Culinary Development Chef, Wayne Wright. Following the success of our “Spinning it back to the 1950's” guide , we aimed to create another nostalgic concept, helping care home residents relive cherished memories from their past. Chef Wayne drew inspiration from his father-in-law’s 1940s cookbook, adapting its treasured recipes to keep the traditional flavours, whilst accounting for residents' nutritional needs. Some recipes are suitable for cutlery-free but can be added to with carbohydrate and vegetable variations if necessary. Check out Chef Wayne’s top tips throughout our guide for seasonal switches and more.
